Subject: [Glorantha] Do we have numbers for Jar-Eel, Harrek, Red
Emperor...?
I'm wondering if there is an offiscial (or close) version of central heroic and superheroic level character in existance?
Rob:
The Wyrms Footprint that had the red emperor on the front had AD&D type stats for Jar Eel and Moonson, also Harrek and Prince Argrath. The interesting thing here are their magic items, which I presume Greg may have provided some instruction on, although he will correct me if that is wrong. Whatever, that does give us something to work with.
Mikko:
I'd love to see the stats on Moonson, and especially Jar-Eel.
My theory is more in the lines that Jar-Eel has a huge amount of Lunar Power invested in her, but mostly it just makes her almost impossible to effect with magic. Harrek also has the White Bear God to keep magic off him.
I'm also wondering how cinematic a magician the Red Emperor is supposed to be. For some reason I don't think he's personally as powerful as, say Zzabur or Sheng Seleris, but rather a very competent magician, administrator and general with a huge amount of resources behind him. Say 10w3 in magic and 10w2-10w3 in most things needed in running an empire.
In my house campaign recently we ran through the Cradle scenario, which was fun. This being Heroquest they stayed aboard the Cradle and met Harrek the Beserk. The great thing having newbies in the game is that when Harrek started throwing his weight arround our Inora Practitioner tried to hit him with Freeze at 15W. I figured that the white bear god on his back is a Grand Spirit, probably in the 6/7 W range. I plumped for a resistance of 10W7, allowing for an augment here and there, which is pretty invulnerable by even heroic standards. Suffering a complete defeat I ruled that the character Gynhilde was completely encased in ice by the back feed of magical energies, and Harrek thought this was great fun! Remember during the Battle of Pennel Ford the assembled solar priests try to vapourise Harrek with a community backed sunspear, only to suffer a complete defeat themselves, and they weren't player characters, hence their brains caught fire!!
There you go for a start, any further thoughts?
Best regards
Rob
