Thanks Graham, having been mulling over the accumulated "ANG" detritus that has been accumulating for the last few weeks, your post had the effect of getting one of those long, thin blocks in Tetris, that finally allows you to fit everything into place that has been steadily accumulating despite your best efforts to keep it clear.

It still leaves a couple of loose ends - and I wouldn't want it otherwise - but it seems to fit better than my previous understanding of... er... ANGst.
