First of all, I don't like Sandy's rather mechanical treatment of glorantha. The man is clever (vampiric elf arrows) but many of his ideas don't seem to fit Glorantha very well (like the aforementioned arrows). To each his own, of course. I do like the man, and respect his intelligence (I've had the pleasure of talking to Sandy at a Rope-Con here in Finland)
But back to the topic. I like the idea that somebody dished out about vampires having a social aspect, and only praying on their own kind. Troll vampires are a terror of trolls, human vampires among humans, and so on. I think the Vivamorti vampires (like Delecti's minions) are somewhat alien to the heortlings, and are of EWF-era origin. The native heortling vampire is of course the draugr.
But speaking of the native terror, vampires actually fit into the elf theme pretty well. Forests are home to many sorts of parasitic plants. All sorts of creepers and sucker vines. An elf vampire may have some rather different characteristics to a human one, but I'm pretty certain they exist, and are a similar primal terror to elves as human vampires are to men.
