And to make things more complex, I'd say the elves don't really have aversion to decomposers. Life and death are a natural cycle to the elves, and the propably only fear unnatural and unclean death. That said, I'm sure the elves don't like plant diseases and destructive insects, and elf woods tend to be surprisingly healthy old-growth forests. See the movie Mononoke Hime for an excellent (and eerie) portrayal of an elf forest. Vampires are propably a manifestation of unnatural death, and as such very scary to elves. No doubt they believe that to be killed by a vampire, is to be permanently weakened or even destroyed forever. A vampire is not a part of the cycle (like Taker) but something that weakens a forest forever. Oblivion.
