I was just thinking of reading this of Prof. Ian Stephenson's classic work "Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation" which looks in at reincarnation cases in India, Pakistan and the Middle East. He discusses cases of children who "remember" having been someone else in a previous life, and often want to return to their former families (usually of a different caste and geographically distant), avenge their deaths, and live with their "wives" and "children". These memories are strongest in very young children, and fade by the gae of five or six usually, but some do adopt their "true" families, are recognised as the deceased individual, and become part of the family. While I am sure the literature of reincarnation is familiar to you, I suggest this particular parapsychological study because it provides detailed case studies, with detail easily used in your game, and is so famous that googling should provide plenty of interesting extracts and reviews online.

I'm completely sceptical about the experiece, but then my on family "reonised" me as a deceased relative, owing tomy precocious and soon forgotten knowledge of danish!
