Agreed. As a new version of the old crystals it's a great idea. But as a replacement for the folk magic, or some spells from the gods or spirits, as the everyday magic of most people it would damage a key aspect of Glorantha for me. So if common means 'cross-cultural' fine and dandy, but if means everyday, hmmm.
