This is roughly the theme we're exploring in the Swords campaign, on and off. We started knowing that we had a very minor hero/sub-cult of Humakt whose "extra" affinity was Truewind. And we're learning in play. We know a lot more about the Hero who founded it (yet another of Arkat's lieutenants, Hereward Truewind), and we're starting to realise why a mere Hero Cult has an affinity of their very own. Looks like what we've actually got may be Humakt before he severed from Storm. But someone, probably Arkat (or maybe Hereward?), seems to have been messing about with the history and myth of this cult (or maybe the main Humakt one?), and a lot of contradictions are showing up as a result. It's becoming more and more clear that a LOT of cult knowledge has been lost over the centuries, not surprising for a cult with only about 30 known initiates left. And yes, Hereward came from Ralios. I suspect we're going to have a lot of fun when Orlanth is Dead - do the PCs keep their Wind magic, or not? And if so, why?
Affinities of Death, Honour, and Truewind, though - this doesn't sound like the relic of Umath Peter describes above. I think if they ever visit Ralios, I'll let them meet his version, just so as to add more confusion :)
