Thanks Chris,
I've not actually seen a write up of the Dark Eater Cult as worshipped by
the Morokanth, I'd only heard about him in snatches from other sources
related to Praxians, that he is/was a darkness deity who is/was a violent
beserk, fought against Chaos, is a friend and ally of the Storm Bull, but
also an enemy of the peoples of Prax because of his violence and hunger.
Sounded enough like an outsider's view of ZZ to me to assume that they are
one and the same. I am willing to believe that I am in error, but for now,
I will stick with my assumptions. I wasn't considering him as a
*worshipped* entity, merely one that they know of and are warned about.
Trollkin as Dusk Men... I think I quite like that!
Thanks again -
Malk.
For knowledge of trolls and troll deities, I was actually thinking as much from myth as from day to day experience, though I'm sure they encounter one another on occasion, not much in everyday experience. The main one was that Waha rescued the Protectresses from (I think) Kyger Litor, who was going to eat them. I can't remember what KL was called in that story though.

Malk,
I don't think that Zorak Zoran and Dark Eater are the exact same thing. They may be the same underlying entity, but will be completely different experiences for ordinary Gloranthans. I'd say that Morokanth worship Dark Eater to get magics that do not include any of Zorak Zoran's fire or zombie powers, for example. For Praxians, Storm Bull fills much of the mythic role that ZZ fills for Trolls. I doubt that trolls would find much familiar about the Dark Eater ceremonies that Praxians peform. There would be virtually no overlap in myths and stories. However, your intrepid heroes could certainly find the connections on the heroplane.
The Praxians do know of trollkin. They probably call them little dark men or maybe dusk men as a play on words.
I doubt there are more than a handful of Praxians who know anything sognificant about troll gods. The ones who spend some time in Pavis could find out that they worship the big troll mother. The rhinos probably have some old lore about how to fight trolls because of their invasion of Dagori Inkarth.
