This isn't just an academic question: For an e-mail game I'm running, I'm trying to figure out how "Heortling-like" the Aeolings are, and what kind of relationship they have with their Heortling neighbors, especially in parts of Heortland outside of Esvular.

  Apparently the Heortlings of the Heortland are pretty indistinguishable from the northern Orlanthi of Sartar, which is due IIRC from discussions with Jeff Richard, due to the effect of them being the Hendriki and no one could pin them down and wipe them out in the imperial age. I belivee that they were amongst the only Orlanthi who could sacrafice and initiate to Orlanth during the time of the 'Ill Wind' or Lokomayadon.    

  The Esvulari by contrast have largly adopted the lifestyles of the western Rokari. I imagine that the two societies are farely insulated from each other due to differences in custom and modes of worship. Imagine a Dara Happan marrying into a clan of Orlanthi - it would be the rare exception, certainly not the rule.    

  I wonder if Joerg, Peter and other devotee's would agree with my understanding.
