Digging through my sources I stumbled over this puzzle:
Who is Debaday, Antigod King of Fozerantu?
(Sources: Revealed Mythologies, pp. 87, 89(Fozeranto), 92(Jesolo))
He appears as an ally of Sshorg in the drowning of Duravan, aka First Torrential War (among the Thinobutans).
As a reward he received the dry lands of Fozeranto (northeastern Pamaltela), which became a Great Stronghold for the antigods, and from where he conquered much of northern and eastern Pamaltela, making his reign the Demon Period of that continent.
What help did he offer that he received this reward?
Was he Suralavo, the Underworld God mentioned in Introduction to Glorantha
(p.234), in Revealed Mythology (p.51) alongside Jakamalu (Jarkartu the
Indigo Conqueror)? If not, who or what was Suralavo? An Artmali origin
seems unlikely (the closest name similarity is Serartmale, which is pretty
far-fetched).
Debaday's pirates raided the southwestern East Isles.
Debaday was killed by Jesolo and the Golden Fleet early in the Dawn Age, and his kingdom drowned.
Was this when the Flanchite fled the drowned land of Va (Men of the Seas p.30)?
If I missed any published facts, I'd like to know. I'm also interested in opinions (including the whole Thinobutu/Sharzu/Genjera/Gendara topic). Received on Mon 07 Aug 2006 - 07:27:34 EEST
