Somewhere in an old publication there's a drawing of the Ivory Plinth which shows two enormous tusks on a classical style base. That's why the tusk riders worship there. Whether the tusks were made at the same time as the base or the tusk riders replaced a previous object I've no idea. I'm not even sure the base, which is technically the plinth, is ivory. The ivory bit may refer to the tusks. Remember that nobody apart from the Tusk Riders have seen it for some time.
