Einstein and various other scientists invented the theory of general relativity, and Darwin invented the theory of evolution through natural selection. But both general relativity and evolution by natural selection have always been true.

  Both are theories, and cannot be scientifically proved as far as I can tell. Sure both have become accepted as true, and perhaps that is why they are such good examples, yes?
