And Humakt doesn't? He is extreme but the same can be said of the Carmanians.

I don't see where the "Maintain Life" comes from. I'm looking at the keyword in the ILH-1 and the principle isn't in there. Insofar as the core principles of the Carmanian way are, it's Truth and the Lie first with Light and Darkness second.
Orlanthi Humakti are apart from society but that is because Orlanth stole the Sword from Humakt. But the Carmanian social order is not descended from Orlanth hence their Humakti do not have a need to be apart.

I dislike the term "wizardry" and its usage here is a complete redundancy as the Carmanians do not have a significant minority of atheists that other western societies do.
The people who use sorcery in Carmania are the Vizier caste. I do not believe that Saint worship is permitted outside the Vizier caste due to the near absence of any western saints in Carmanian religion.
Insofar as Carmania does have a tradition of Saint worship, I believe this largely stems from GanEstoro making it a traditionally hidden practice that the Lunars are bringing out into the open.

Sorcerous spells are evil because they stem from GanEstoro and can be used for bad purposes. Only the Viziers have the moral fibre not to be corrupted by their use.
>Blessings received from liturgists are not necessarily as dangerous,
>since veneration isn't an amoral practice.
Well there's a small point that veneration should properly be restricted for God and not some lesser being. Leaving aside the real world examples, the belief is found among a small minority of Rokari (the Whyte Wyzards) and given the lack of Saint worship among the Carmanians, it looks as though the Magi have condemned it.
