They will probably, however, be hopelessly outclassed by those with both mundane horse-raising skills *and* magical abilities to assist in such areas.
I'd hate to reduce magic to "just another technical proficiency", but it does seem that initiation is something that a lot of people in Glorantha have (and most soldiers, if not most of the general populace, in the Empire - correct?).
