I'd argue that this is about as perfect a YGWV moment as anywhere. Also, what each of us decides is "sane" might vary a lot. :)

I think I'd buy that.

I think in general, I would put most of the Pelorian basin in a vaguely Mediterranean vein physically. North African and Southern European mixed up.

What pictures I have seen of the Islanders seems to be at odds with that.

I don't think the Esrolians particularly have much Egyptian influence/flavour. But that might just be me.

There are also green and blue-skinned people, so I don't think we can get too stressed about matching things up perfectly
