I'm not sure how much I'd look into that particular tidbit. Since those things are not documented for Glorantha at all, that particular bit is just what has seemed cool for MoB at the time, I'd think.
For what it's worth, I've just taken it to mean that the sundomers look much more european than the nomadic natives of Prax.

I assume you are talking about UV exposure here? A small amount of UV is benefiscial, and to get it us northeners need to be pale. Similarily, a hairless ape (human) get's a huge amount of harmful UV in the tropics, so people there have very dark pigmentation.

Not one of the themes I'm very happy with. Parhaps the esrolians are more duelist oriented than the Sartarites (humakti, that is), but that doesn't mean they are swashbuckler dandies. Way too late period for me. No doubt proper Sartarite hillmen consider all Esrolian men effete, but that doesn't mean silk and lace, at least not for me.
