[Glorantha] EWF humans and reincarnation

How did the EWF humans progress down the draconic path?

I'm pretty sure they didn't die and be reborn from an egg. They didn't have an egg. I suppose the humans just changed gradually, or parhaps in dramatic stages as they progressed spiritually and magically.

Parhaps the Utuma rite was used in some way. May be the EWF human had to "die" like a shaman, and come back to life (his body healing and changing). That could be it. A gradual change within the caste, but a dramatic utuma seremony to progress from scout to warrior, and so on.

In my own game there is an EWF temple (sort of a open topped steppe pyramid) where there are four crystal colums, large enough to contain a large human. These crystals are artificial "eggs", that serve a human in the same way as the dragonewts egg serves it. This is a major plot point in my game, the result of heroic level experimental magic in Pavis, and not something I envision to have been common in the EWF days.
