I don't follow. The text isn't written from the Valkarian PoV but an objective description. To say that the battle is famous only in the Valkarian Isles seems to me a misuse of the word.

I would also add the New Dragons Ring, the Vormaini (which my Vithelan spellchecker insists should be "vermin") and possibly the Elf Empire and Teleos.
NEW DRAGONS RING: would have been pretty prominent in the north but it is now in deep decline due to the failed invasion of Vormain.
VORMAIN: is preparing for a major expansion of the Hinter Islands (considering their last expansion was at the end of the fourth century, they could be expanding at the end of every age). Right now nobody sees anything but the potential targets are being surveyed by invisible ninjas.
ELF EMPIRE: since yellow elves are found in most of the larger islands (ML p30), the Elf Empire must have a presence there. I think they are currently engaged in some long term magical spell that will drastically be ruined when the Elf Empire disappears.
TELEOS: used to have the notorious Rainbow Pirates that would have raided Vithela at this period. Since they are not mentioned in G:tSA, the God Learners have probably captured and destroyed the deity that was inciting them.
