Well, just looking at the magical abilities of Makabaeus the Lunar Sorceror (page 83):
They can turn the battlefield to molten lava under the enemy units, or warm the bodies of any enemy in armour until they grow dizzy from heatstroke. They can crush the hope of the enemy army, cause discord among their generals or make their allies turn on them. Any iron weapons or armour they have will snap and shatter, and their food supply will turn rotten. They can suck away the magical power and resistance of enemy magicians, or curse the opposing enemy with catastrophes. As for their own army, they can ease its suffering, make it tough through joy and its comprehension of Rufelza's love, and enhance its understanding of the enemy's moves so it sees through every strategem and ruse.
I'm sure any other cult could produce similar examples.
