Esrola is physically the land goddess of Esrolia, in the same way that Frona is Fronela, Penta is Pent, Pelora is Peloria and Ralia is Ralios. So the land is physically her body.

But, there's no reason why she can't also live in the Earth Temples as well. She used to live in the Castle of Black Glass as Argan Argar's wife and The Only Old One's mother. She cuddled up to Lodril as well, way back when.

No, the Darkness is simply the absence of Yelm and the other Solar Gods and the rule of the Darkness deities. The Great Darkness comes after the Spike (Law) disappears. They are not part of the elemental sequence, or are part of the Storm Age.

I can imagine that many of the subcults can be subcults of other deities as well. I wouldn't get too hung up over So-and-so is a subcult of Whatsherface and not Thingummyjig. So, Vinga, for example, can be a subcult of both Orlanth and Ernalda without much of a problem.

Not really. We forget how important Genert was - he was the main ruling deity of an entire continent. When he died, everything went to pot. The whole continent was devastated.

Imagine him as the Prime Land God of Genertela, his daughters and grandaughters are the Land Goddesses of individual areas, but they all lay on top of him and he lays on top of Gata, his mother/wife. Of course, they are elsewhere as well, but you get the picture.

His descendants simply made the best they could and shacked up with all the other deities, as Earth deities often do.

Pamaltela has an almost continent-wide religion/culture and pretty much everything relies on him or links to him. Genert had the same thing before he was killed.

It's the traditional thing. Daughters of Ernalda and Orlanth are normally regarded as Earth Deities, sons as Storm Deities. There are exceptions, Barntar is definitely an Earth Deity, Vinga is a Storm Deity, but they are both members of both heritages.

See Ya
