[Glorantha] Cult spells

Hi,

I have a question regarding cults and who they teach their spirit magic to.

I've been going back over my old RQ2 books regarding this, and noticed that it states that cults require a person to be a Lay Member of the cult before they teach that person any spirit/battle magic spells. Then I read Chalana Arroys writeup, which states that Lay Members must foreswear violence in much the same way as Initiates do, and they will lose any offensive magic spells they know when they become Lay Members.

Given that the Healing spell is probably the most widespread of all the old spirit magic spells, and almost every NPC has it, I'm curious where they get it from...

Do cults only teach their spirit magic to their own members, or are they generally willing to teach outsiders, perhaps for a much higher price? Would they teach initiates of associated cults without requiring them to become worshippers of their own cult?

Although I'm using RQ terminology, I think this is more of a Glorantha-specific question
