[Glorantha] Im getting confused

You are talking about a rebirth process from crested to ruler dragonewt. I see the inhuman king that have postponed dragonhood to stay and lead.

Then one mixed that up with true dragons, that should in some way laying eggs. That cannot be, since I read somewhere that true dragons live their lives backwards in time. And furthermore why should they lay eggs when their minds can create stuff.

I think the solution must be that the dragonewt's themselves causes reincarnation, by dreaming and manifesting slowly. Creating more and more complex form as their mental capacity evolves.

The outer visible form of this is a growning egg at a safe place, ie some dragonewt nest. And yes the presence of higher order dragonewts would indeed speed up the reincarnation process since the could do "mental coaching" of the eggling.
