[Glorantha] Pyramid schemes

So in other words, the EWF functioned in a way similar to the Kralori Empire, the Lunar Empire, the Holy Country, the Kingdom of Seshnela as well as most historical civilizations in the Real World. Were they all pyramid schemes?
