Some of them even build *actual* pyramids from time to time (or big cathedrals, or Moons, etc).

I think that monotheistic religion is *especially* "pyramidal": "You pray every week, and the priest sends the magic off to the provincial capital, and then the bishop sends it off to the national capital..."
