I asked for an answer from a "Mr Dunham", and I got one, thanks. I know who wrote KoDP!

Very much so, but yes, I should have made that clearer for those who haven't played it. (If you haven't, get a copy and do so, it's the definitive guide to how an Orlanthi clan works.)

Entirely. So, the ancestors as portrayed there do not retain individuality as such, but do retain ties to their clan. Which implies that the most important part of an Orlanthi's self-identification remains to them.
