Do we? Great, thanks. Liming would make it stand up, and turn it white. It would look impressive, but I can't work out the symbology behind it, if any.

I didn't even know there were any.

The other possible reason for the henna
(camphire!)-dyed hair is the original one I looked up years ago - red dye on the feet was, in the RW, associated with fertility. So I linked dye at the opposite end of the body to control of fertility: Ernalda supplies the dye, and dying the hair is all part of the process of giving your fertility to her for safe-keeping.

Maybe liming the hair has the same function. Maybe Ralian Vingans don't give their fertility to Ernalda. (To Ralia, perhaps?)
