As I understand it a book about that world is due to be released - maybe next year. If GRRM were to reveal in that book that a popular element of the background as portrayed in the books was "wrong" then he WOULD have angry fans. In the particular Gloranthan case referred to, anger is even more justified because a canonical source - the most detailed available - was suddenly declared "wrong". All those who had relying on it because it WAS canonical have cause to be upset.
