Pygmy elves are the 'little green devils' that infest the northern
jungles of Trowjang and a few of the Sofali islands. These creatures,
unlike many species of elves, are decended from carnivorous plants.

Pygmy elves stand between 50cm and 70cm tall and possess a rubbery
dark green bark that affords them 2 pts of protectionThier unusually
wide mouths are full of sharp wooden teeth and thier saliva dissolves
flesh (1pt damage/ round). Thie jet black eyes allow excellent vision
in the dim light of the jungle canopy and at night. Thier language is
composed of various gibbers and pheremone (scent) exchange.

Pygmy elves form communities of several hundred led by
warrior-shamans. Macarbe divinations that nearly always involve a
freshly killed animal or large insect dictate the tribes movements.
They are androgenous, reproducing via tiny spores that during wetter
seasons will take to a freshly killed corpse of SIZ 4 or larger and
feed upon it, eventually developing into a large tuber that anchors
itself to the ground. After about two years the new born elf tears
itslef from the soil and moves unerringly to the ancestral lands of
its tribe. There is evidence that pygmy elves nurture creches of
juveniles in impenetrable parts of their jungles.

The pygmy tribe is divided into several groups - hunters/warriors,
gatherers, tenders and shamans - each with its own signification.
Warriors often wear small gorilla or monkey skulls as helms. Shaman
bear the most resemblance to the plants from which they are desended.
Pygmy elves have also 'domesticated' a number of animals for thier
use.
