Peter Metcalfe suggests that the Priests of Borin create chaos
monsters as scapegoats for their worshiper's sins. I like this idea
a whole lot, and I think it's worth using as the centerpiece for a
Borist cult. It explains my own belief that they nurture and grow
chaos beings, too (they do! -- how else to get their scapegoats?),
and I hereby abandon most of my previous writeup in favor of
expanding on his idea.
