In defence of David

Hi All,

In response to Peter Micheals:

Well, seeing as the other Seattle David has gone walkabout I think that
I'll have to step in and seal the breach. As a caveat, I only play in
David's Ralios campaign so my understanding is not as good as his. He
will be able to do a much better job when he gets back (and we can play
again - withdrawal symptoms are beginning to show ;).

Firstly Issaries is _not_ a trading god in Ralios. That function is
filled by Doskior (the river god) as most trade in Orlanthi Ralios is
river borne. Issaries serves the functions of communication travel and I
believe that the create market spell is more a "create moot" spell
whereas pathwatch is useful for travelers in general. I think that the
bargain has less to do with trading than with "dickering for position" and
status, etc that is so important amoung the Ralian Orlanthi.

Another difference is that Urox is not the smelly, drunken chaos killing
cult that it is in Dragon Pass and Prax (although drink is still
appreciated ;). Rather he is the god of beserks in general (the divine
rage) and his worshipers are (often) well respected warriors. Urox is
respected as the slayer of the devil, but due to the general lack of
chaos this is not a huge part of the cult. That said old rune lords do
sometimes make a pilgramige over high Llama pass and never come back.
Which is why these strange red people who said that they came over the
pass are so supicious...

I did very much like your take on the Eurmali and as they have not played
much of a role in the campaign thus far... Indeed in the intitation
quest I believe that a trickster played somewhat of an analogous role to
what you are suggesting (but I was not there for that so I can't be
sure).

On a related note: Did anyone play in David Dunham's Bemuri game down
under? I'd like to hear what you though of it if anyone whould like to
share their thoughts. Da Bull!!
