Although I agree with most of Lewis Jardine's post about dwarfs, there
are two points I would like to make.
First, I think the hive mind is an ideal, but due to heresies, internal
conflicts, malfunctions, etc., it is seldom achieved in Time. This reduces
dwarven omniscience and allows greater personalization of individual dwarfs.
Second, IMHO dwarfs are the first users of sorcery, which is based in
knowledge about the World Machine. They consider it only a tool, and mostly
concentrated in the Silvers. Those arrogant jerks, the brithini, copied it as
they copied other things, and developed it beyond even most Mostali dreams.
Perhaps it is my scientific mind, but I really like dwarfs. However, I
would never allow a dwarf PC. Not enough freedom.
It begins to be a kneejerk reaction. Say dwarfs, I post.
