Being in the second group, I can't comment on the reduction in pain after
childbirth and being a man I am more than somewhat reluctent to comment on
the amount of difficulty menstruation causes......
(At this point a *bright* man would shut his mouth)
However, I seem to have noticed that the difficulty of menstruation and the
amount of incapacitation suffered varies *widely* from woman to woman and
even from month to month in the same woman.
While my own Lady certainly doesn't *enjoy* her monthly visitations, she
doesn't seem to be absolutely incapacitated by them either. She goes to
work; usually, unless the period is a particularly bad one, goes to the gym
and works out and more or less lives her normal life. If called upon to
smight the ungodly at such a time I assume she'd do her usual bang-up job.
Again, every woman's millage *will* vary, but there is no reason *not* to
assume that player character women don't fall into the group who problems
with menses are small. For that matter, my Lady says that since she started
working out regularly, the pain and inconvience of her periods has declined
dramatically and that this is common for women who body build. In fact, one
of the problems that women sometimes have in body building at the
competative level is that they sometimes stop menstruating alltogther If we
assume that adventuring women are on the whole a "buff" crowd (swordswomen
more so than healers) it's quite possible their monthly burdens will be light.
