Actually, over here its always been presumed that that was the
underlying reason behind quite a few aspects of Glorantha. The phrase 'Greg
Stafford On Drugs' (or GSOD for short) has been used to refer to many
things. Grotarons, for example.

Time before the Dawn

Chris does a fairly good job of summarising the very different
points of view.
My own current opinion is that before the Dawn, time did indeed
work much the same as it does afterward. cf. GRoY, Entekosiad, etc etc.

However, as many people have 'travelled' to the period before the
Dawn be heroquesting, and heroquests do not take place in linear time, this
explains the difference of opinion - the direct experience of many
Gloranthans is that time is different before the Dawn, even though this is
not, strictly speaking, true. When people talk about the time before the
Dawn, they talk about the time when the Myths happened - and the realm of
myth is outside time, but has a lot in common with the historical era when
the myth was established.
The problem with this version is that we don't know what exactly is
meant by 'travelling back in time through a heroquest'. That is a different
hotly debated topic.

        Cheers
