Ugh, halfway through a huge backlog of Digests and I was
only away for a long weekend. I feel a hard-to-suppress
urge to jump into the fray of the subjective/objective
debate since some, in my opinion, rather stupid things
have been said in it (on both sides).
However, I realize the utter futility of this. Nobody
is going to bring _proof_ either way since there is
none. The only person who can tell the truth about
canonical Glorantha is Greg Stafford and he has written
and said stuff that support _both_ views.
I can only ask rhetorically: am I the only one to
find it slightly amusing to read in a single line of
argument both the opinion "in Glorantha all myths and
interpretations are true" and the opinion "in the real
world I am right and everybody who doesn't agree 100%
is wrong and a shallow-minded dimwit who should go play
The Other Game"?
No, I'm not going to bore the audience with the quotes.
_____
The age thing: since everybody who has fessed up as
far as I have read are outside the postulated 30-35
range I have to admit to being within it. The day
before christmas eve this year I will reach an age of
one third of a century.
_____
Gaming more, debating less about trivia: for some of
us it isn't much of a choice really. The combination
of a busy schedule and the lack of a gaming group
makes the actual gaming sessions few and far between.
