I was thinking about further objections to my ideas about HeroQuesting.
One core idea in particular.
The idea being that when a change is made in reality it must be
And then it struck me: what about botched Quests? And what about effects
Consider the Quest that attempted to cure Gbaji's curse on the Trolls.
And came back to find that they had instead made things worse. They had
And worse, when Gbaji was destroyed and the remnants of his cult stamped
reinforced and restated or the universe reverts to its original state.
That cults are founded to provide that re-inforcement.
that continue on after the God or Hero that created them is destroyed?
The Troll Questers did their ritual and made their change....
brought forth multiple births of trollkin! Now they weren't going to
maintain that change were they? So why did it persist?
on, why did the curses on the Trolls and the Telmori continue?
I can think of explanations for these but they aren't simple ones....

On a slightly related topic:
It strikes me that we need a mechanic for what happens when the change
made by an experimental HeroQuest goes sour, as in the case of the
attempt to cure the trollkin curse.
I don't know how you measure this though.
Those of you who have it might like to look at the discussion of
Temporal Physics in GURPS Time Travel. For altering reality, I would say
Glorantha is Plastic but with High Resistance to change. (And a tendency
to mould back into shape when the pressure is removed.)

On an even more tangential topic someone brought up the increase in the
ability to change the HeroPlane that Heroes get vs my insistance that
they are using up a vital resource....
Let me say that I believe that most Heroes don't like to use up their
own (Essence, POW, Free Will, Insert Mechanic Here) but prefer to use
that of the Ring that they build when their reputation grows.
However it does use up the Hero's (Stuff I Mentioned Above) to some
small degree to form HeroQuesting Rings: Let's say that it is equivalent
to forming a 3 point Rune Magic Enchantment. And that loss will count
for the eventual apotheosis of the Hero.
