What if Trolls could project darksense images to each other? Basically,
you could show someone else a sonar picture with your darksense, or even
(if you were very clever and had lots of training) project non-magical
darksense illusions (I'd say the later sounds like a likely ability for
Blue Moon initiates or priests).
The implications of both of these ideas sound interesting enough for me to
think of incorporating them.
