Duh! I should read my books sometimes of course Trimanes are Groratans, I
should have looked at the pseudo latin name for them Trimanus Saggitus.
Satyrs.
Not long ago Stephen Martin gave us the Esrolian pantheon which included
a deity called Wood Satyr. I picture this as being a cult of people who
commune with nature, especially satyrs, resulting in orgiastic worship
somthing like that of the god, Pan.
Teleosians.
I always pictured them as looking more like Polynesians, having a Kralori
slant to their looks. I think that the folk of the Place of Big Silver Hats
are definetley blue skins, but have been other colours in the past, but due
to Teleosians not remembering very much beyond two hundred years ago I
don't think this is remembered.
Amazons.
The reason that I said they did not slay the women they encountered was to
give them a chance to join their numbers. Of course if they refused they
would go overboard with the rest of the crew.
Shovel Tuskers.
I remember watching a programme about some types of plants that may have
become extinct because of the demise of shovel tuskers. Their seeds needed
to spend a long time in a digestive tract before they could germinate, and
their were no modern animals with suitable tracts to be found anymore. That
programme placed the shovel tuskers as living in forests and jungles. It
also had some nifty Ray Harry Hausen style shovel tuskers running around.
Timinits.
I love the idea of eating two foot long witchiti grubs. I was also
wondering if the Fonritans used Lucans in their wars with the elves of
Vralos? Lucan shell is probably a good source of armour, nice an glossy
black. The Fonritan secret police in my campaign wear the stuff, heavily
engraved with arabic like designs. They also use large falchion like swords
fashioned after the Lucan mandibles. Part of the initation to become a
Calari, is to awaken a Lucan from its rotting wood pile and wrestle it into
submission (a very hard test), to show valour, strength and mastery.
Teshnos.
Has anybody any ideas about the Teshnan port of Dosakyo (sp?), which was
established by the Kethaelan fleet. Does it still have a strong western
population or were they driven out by the Kralori fleet? I picture it as
being a little like Calcutta during the hay day of the British Admiralty, a
place of trade and ship building, controlled by representatives of the High
Admiral of Boats and the Pharoah. Imports would include exotic wood,
spices, fabrics and tea (or tea like drinks).
