There are some Carnivorous Whales mentioned in Missing Lands.
The finale of Johnathan Tweets 'Barran the Monster Killer' scenario
in SIP contains elements of the legend (although admittedly it is set
inside a giant eel)
In the RW it was considered unlucky to have women on board.(and a
few other things that I can't recall at the moment)
I suspect it would be very unlucky to have too many people on
board who did not know Dormal's Opening ceremony just in case
the captain fumbles his attempt.
