2D Humnakti

Are Humakti 2D? Only if you or your campaign has them that way. I've
said it before, but a Humakti is no more obsessed with Death than an
Orlanthi is obsessed with Storm. That is, there are some who will
take their devotion to anti-social extremes, but most (an Orlanthi
all, even) are more balanced.

A Humakti's connection with Death is no more anti-social than an
Issarian's connection with communication and travel. A provocative
statement? Well, just what kind of an opinion do typical Orlanthi
have of someone who spends their time talking and being friendly with
outsiders, gadding about rather than spending time with their kin,
and making a living with unbalanced gift exchanges (trade that turns
a profit) rather than using gifts for social bonding?

With HW we have learnt that Orlanth can do everything, but that the
specialist cults are for specialists. So Humakt is the god of
specialist fighters: I say that means huscarls. Such people need not
be 2D death monks; they are certainly not outcasts. I say that the
Humakti severance does not cut off the Humakti from society; it
replaces the Humakti's kin with the household of the Chief or King.
The Chief or King might have his men fight people from many
bloodlines. The kin of a huscarl can not possibly take responsibility
(pay wergild) for the huscarl's woundings and killings.
