Anyone know what "Boche" comes from? I've never
figured that out.
Also, what about "Krauts"? I use that sometimes, and
even end my
postal address as "Krautland", but still amn't sure
where that comes
from,
and nobody here knows, I can tell you.
Daniel
Unless I fail to detect the irony in this question, Daniel, we Italians call Germans "Kraut" because of their diet habits. Same way we call French Frog-eaters.
I'm not aware of the British calling Germans "Ted" because of our Tedeschi (with the h), but I can assure you we rarely use the proper word (preferring the ditto Krauts or Crucchi).
Sorry, but I suppose you all have equally ludicrous nicknames for us italians (Spaghetti etc.).
