I don't see this is much worse than being a devotee, and needing to spend 60% of your time on your god. (I think the smith is in fact a Gustbran devotee, and yelling at apprentices is actually part of his devotion.)

Our adventures can fit pretty easily into the remaining 40%. Perhaps if your group plays each day out you'd have trouble with characters like a smith.
