Reasons behind the six breasted Uzuz

I'd guess it's a secondary sexual characteristic. Six breasts send a stronger signal than two. Fertility is very important to trolls (and I bet was even before the Curse of Kin), and the six breasts of their women are a strong fertility symbol, even if rarely needed. (The huge antlers of many species of deer are not so very practical as weapons, but are vital for attracting a mate)*

There can also be a community angle there. Parhaps the Uzuz tend to share the duties of babycare, freeing most of the mothers to other pursuits.
