I don't think modern board games in the monopoly style fit well into a fantasy world - and they'd be very expensive to make without printing and cheap paper.

Someone mentioned Othello. This is a modern trademark for the same game that was called Reversi in Victorian times - AFAIK it doesn't go back any further than that. This is a game where pieces are never captured or removed, but only change sides, and where having most of the pieces your own colour can be a serious disadvantage. Sounds pretty Lunar to me.
