Question: How long do you keep the head? or How do you preserve the head?

Maybe a difference is that the Thanattari perform rituals etc to shrink and preserve the head, wheras the trad. Orlanthi simply stick it on a spike outside.

(Hence, there might be a rule that the "family" has to take revenge before the head has rotted away. Or that, once it has rotted away, you return the skull to the family for burial.)

If it's just a scalp, then I guess the skin just shrivels up and dries out, and thus no preservation is necessary.
