I grew up around rivers and lakes with little snapping turtles, and they were nasty enough to be pretty universally respected....think the fresh water equivalent of a pit bull terrier. Not all that fast or agile, but you REALLY don't want it biting you. Now one 2' - 3' across.....you know, the hunt would be interesting. A gloranthan turtle that big you have to figure must have armor like a tank, so the only way to kill it would be to get a spear (or sword) through one of the small gaps in the shell, which would require getting pretty close to that beak.....OH, right, Hiia was a one armed swordsman, wasn't he?
