I was under the impression that delayed activation was only used for instant-type spells like Lighting Bolt, Turn Person To Goo and suchlike. Taking a feat or spell with a durationand putting it on a delayed activation might either make it more

Why not look into enchanting an item containing the feat/spell with that? That might be more amusing as well from a role-playing standpoint.
