My dwarfs are sensitive to all kinds of vibrations: the only good movement is 'Static' movement. Their whole body is a walking seismograph, with the sensitivity to higher frequencies increasing as you get closer to the head, which can `see' any kind of radiation.

Maybe the `eyes' would reflect the type of dwarf. I imagine them as having no pupils at all, just this plain, maybe faceted, disc of metal.
