Heh, heh. I like this idea, particularly in connection with the idea that the nexus of the web is the Compromise: this makes it much harder to change the keys events leading up to the Compromise itself, as opposed to some brigandry in the Lesser Darkness, say. And why one can't go beyond it, into Time (without getting eaten).

I'm not so sure the outside is safe, either; here, the risk would be Chaos/the Void/the Silence/whatever your favourite pre-existance with its built-in horrors is.
