On the Cruelty to animals thread, Klaus sez:
<I mean the romans were appalled by the Carthagian practice <of ritual
infanticide long before rights of a child were
<even thought of.
<Thus I think that Tapping animals would be viewed in the <same light as
people viewed the eithiopan practice of carving <meat from a cow while it
was still alive.
But don't both these examples simply reinforce the point that what constitutes cruelty to animals, or cruelty of any kind, or Evil in general differs from group to group. There are many people nowadays who believe that simply _eating_ animals is cruel to them, while I do not endorse this view (hamburger, yum) it shows that what's normal to some is cruelty to others.
Isn't it the same in all Gloranthan societies, so we cannot generalize about tapping animals, simply try to interpret that the Rokari believe one way, the Hrestoli another etc.
