Any reason why a "Die based" system can't be used?

i.e. A special success is one where the die roll ends in 1 or 6.

Crits are tougher, but basically, the die roll ends in 1, and the first
die roll is even (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, etc).

Fumbles are the inverse: die roll ends in 0 and the ten's digit is odd.
(only on a failure).

That is even faster. :) Just add modifiers to the base skill and plug away.
